Archive for July, 2011

Yep I am just a busy busy bumblebee.  I work part time as an esl tutor and the rest of the time I am conjuring up some handmade goods.

Lately before and after my tutoring sessions I have been working on a series of phone straps.  When my class of seven year olds saw my witch phone strap they begged me to make them one, so I promised I would make them any animal they wanted.  The little boy wanted a tiger, which I have fininshed.  You can see how I made it by clicking on tutorials.

The three little girls wanted a bunny, dog, and butterfly.  The bunny is also finished.  I haven’t gotten around to taking pictures yet.  My husband is the photo wizard so I let him take all the pictures.  The dog and the butterfly just need my logo stitch on the back, then they need to be stitch together, stuffed with a little magic, and they will be finished.

There are four series in all:

The baby series: the butterflies

The kid series: the animals (tiger, bunny, dog, pig)

The cat series

& my favorite…

The owl series.

Again the first owl is nearly finished just have to stitch it together.  The second owl has been cut out and is ready to be made.

I plan on using these4 series as phone straps, key chains, baby mobiles, and later dolls, and maybe cushions and pillows in the distant future.

So much work to do… but never enough time.

Besides sewing, I have many crocheted projects in progress.  Most of these are Christmas gifts so I still have time.  But being a bit of a procrastinator and a bit flighty, often jumping from one project to the next without finishing, I am worried that they will not be finished in time to mail to America in December.

I am making a green and black scarf for my grandpa.  (it is so hard to get into the scarving mood since it is boiling outside, and inside since I have no a.c. at this time)

A Griffindor Harry Potter scarf is in the works for my brother.

A panda bookbag for my niece.  I just have the panda and one side of stars done.

A black shawl for my sister-in-law.  If I like it I may end up making one for myself as well.  ^^

For my nephew, I am making him a Mario and Luigi bookbag.  I only have the mario panel finished.  I have just started the Luigi panel.

I have not decided what to do for my mother, grandmother, and husband.  I may just crochet my husband a scarf.

And for my sweet angel baby (my pomeranian KODI) I will crochet him his own little pomeranian friend.

Maybe I will make some mice for my wee kitties who are waiting for me back in America.

I just remembered I still need to finish my Halloween witch throw which I started about three months ago.

I also have another blanket that I started back in January and haven’t gotten around to completing yet….My sweet little angel is helping mommy show off her unfinished blanket.  ^^

As you can see.  I my schedule is quite full.  I just hope I can finish all of these projects before my witchy mind can conjure up more magical creations.
